Your team
You will be part of the Premises Division of the Directorate Administration in the Directorate General Corporate Services. The staff members in our Directorate oversee the ECB’s technical infrastructure, facilities and security management services. The Premises Division is responsible for providing real estate management, space and workplace allocation management, construction project management services, operation and maintenance (technical facility management), and audio media services and coordinates the ECB’s art-related activities. We also have a small data management and analytics team that analyses data from various databases with a focus on facility management and technical documentation for our buildings.
In your role as a trainee in the Division’s Arts team, you will be part of a team responsible for coordinating the ECB’s art-related activities.
The ECB is an inclusive employer and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply irrespective of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other characteristics.
Your role
As a trainee in the Premises Division, you will support our efforts to continuously improve and optimise our buildings and services. You will work under supervision and your tasks may include:
- conducting research and drafting reports;
- compiling and analysing data related to the ECB art collection;
- preparing and delivering presentations related to your activities and the activities of your team;
- support the Art team in managing the ECB’s contemporary art collection;
- support the work of the ECB’s Art Committee;
- support the Art team’s work on internal and external art projects and exhibitions;
- perform administrative tasks, such as managing the art inbox, maintaining the art database, and managing art documentation and filing systems;
- produce art valuation and reconciliation reports and support the annual art inventory exercise;
- draft art-related articles for internal communications to raise awareness of the work of the Art team;
- organise guided art tours on the ECB’s premises and maintain museum passes;
- manage internal and external artwork loan agreements, including the transfer of contracts to the ECB’s archives;
- support the curatorial direction of artwork in ECB workspaces.
The position offers you excellent opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to activities that enable the ECB to deliver on its mandate. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
- a bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture, art, art history, communications or another relevant field;
- a general interest in European affairs, central banking and matters of relevance to the Premises Division;
- a good knowledge of the MS Office package;
- an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
- knowledge of, and some experience in, one or more of the following fields: service management, quality assurance, process management, environmental standards, contract management or art exhibitions;
- an analytical/innovative mindset.
You are curious and eager to learn, and want to further develop your ability to analyse complex information. You are keen to collaborate with others, pursue team goals and learn from other people’s diverse perspectives. You strive to know and anticipate stakeholder needs, and will signal any need for change and propose alternative solutions.
You are motivated to contribute to the ECB’s mission, to serve the citizens of the EU as a member of a public institution and to work with colleagues from all over Europe. You are keen to be part of our team and to use your skills and competencies to achieve the aims of this position.
