Location: Solingen, 5 Days Onsite

Are you a recent graduate eager to kickstart your career in the dynamic world of production engineering? Do you thrive on challenges and have a hunger to learn and grow, even if you're not yet sure where your professional journey will take you? Well, if you’re interested in our Production Engineer Trainee role, this might be your next step! We are looking for a recent graduate looking to join Edgewell Personal Care – a global consumer goods business with a portfolio of over 25 brands (Wilkinson Sword, Schick, Hawaiian Tropic, Carefree, Bulldog Skincare, Jack Black and recently acquired Cremo Grooming… just to name a few!). This role is perfect for someone with a solid educational foundation in production engineering and a willingness to dive into real-world applications.

In this role, you’ll work in real production environments, tackling challenges that directly impact operations. You’ll act as a crucial link between the hands-on workforce and management, bridging the gap to ensure solutions that satisfy both practical and strategic needs. By understanding the needs of both worlds, you’ll play a key role in fostering collaboration, improving processes, and driving efficiency. Throughout the traineeship, you’ll have the opportunity to work in various departments across the plant, enabling you to network extensively and gain valuable insights into the company from multiple perspectives. This exposure will give you a well-rounded understanding of the organization and help you identify areas where you can contribute most effectively in future operations. You’ll report directly to the Plant Director, offering a unique opportunity to learn from leadership, while also benefiting from the support of a dedicated mentor who will guide your professional and personal growth. This structure ensures a balance of independence, support, and strategic insight. Are You Ready to Show Us What You’ve Got? 
You’ll have a real passion for Engineering and will be looking for the opportunity to develop your career.  It would also be great if you have the following:
 
•    Recent graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably Production Engineering 
•    A genuine interest in working within a production environment and managing the dynamic daily operations of a manufacturing plant. A knack for thriving in the dynamic nature of production environments, with a focus on effectively managing the daily business and operational tasks
•    Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex production issues and develop practical solutions. Precision in analyzing data, monitoring processes, and documenting findings or recommendations. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, tools, and techniques, with a willingness to expand technical expertise on the job.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between hands-on staff and management. Ability to work collaboratively with teams across various departments and build strong professional relationships. Empathy and the ability to work with diverse teams, understanding the needs of both operational staff and management.
•    Ambition to grow within the company, potentially taking on future roles in production management
•    A strong preference for working directly in the plant to immerse in operations, meet teammates face-to-face, and engage hands-on with the production environment. Direct interaction with teammates at all levels is essential for understanding processes and building effective working relationships
•    Proficient in both English and German
•    Valid work permit in Germany
